The Newport Ship short-listed for conservation award

Every two years the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works offers the IIC Keck Award at its conference, which this year is being held in Lima, Peru.  The award recognises a project that helps the public appreciate and understand conservation.

The exciting news is that the Friends’ nomination, which focussed on our public engagement about the conservation of the ship’s timbers – the visitors, the displays, the social media, the website, the e-newsletters, the animations, the broadcast events, even the visit by HRH the Princess Royal, and anticipating our audio-guides – has been short-listed and is now going to public vote!

We look forward to learning the result which will be announced online from Lima during the conference closing ceremony on 27th September.

Voting is quick, easy and free- vote here, deadline for voting is Wednesday 25 September.
